What is it?
The International Clavichord Directory is a 100-page book of information and reference for professional and amateur clavichordists.
Contributors with a wide range of clavichord knowledge have provided: a special section for newcomers to the clavichord, notes on composing for the clavichord, guides to the best available clavichord recordings and books, a survey of historic clavichords in museums and public collections, lists of clavichord drawings for makers and of kit suppliers, an introduction to interesting websites, e-mail lists and journals and to clavichord and other early-music societies.
This is followed by the Clavichord Register, an alphabetical listings section in which clavichord teachers, performers, makers, repairers, tuners – anyone who provides a service in connection with the clavichord – are given a half-page or so to describe what they have to offer.
